French baritone David Serero performed for the President of Portugal Mr Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa

Internationally renowned baritone and actor David Serero performed for the President of Portugal, Mr. Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, on Thursday at the American Sephardi Federation located in the Center for Jewish History in New York, in tribute to Sousa Mendes. David Serero performed the famous Sephardi song « Adio Querida » from his album « Sephardi ». Portuguese guitarist Pedro da Silva accompanied him.

Opera star David Serero told the media, « I’m deeply honored to have performed for the President of Portugal, Mr. de Sousa. He is very passionate about traditional music and Sephardi songs. I always have Portuguese people and their beautiful cultural heritage in my heart. I’ve never performed in Portugal yet, but I hope to go there very soon. To meet the President of a country such as Portugal is always a dream come true!
