Russian Cabaret Night at the Russian Samovar featuring David Serero

Located in the heart of the theatre district, the Russian Samovar is a legendary Russian venue opened in 1986. This iconic Russian restaurant is delighted to announce their RUSSIAN CABARET NIGHT featuring the baritone and entertainer David Serero. The evening is a dinner theatre basis including a 3-course meal and a unique David Serero performance of Russian classics and entertainment including singing, audience participation; stand up comedy, improvisation in the warm ambiance and unique decor of the Russian Samovar.

It’s an invitation to the Russian culture and lifestyle in the Russian Cabaret grand tradition. Since the first performance on February 13th, it became an instant success. The baritone David Serero is no stranger to Russia since he trained at the prestigious R. Korsakov Conservatory in St Petersburg before he was invited to be part of the Academy of Young Singers of the Marriinsky Theatre by Valery Gergiev.

During this evening he performs public’s favorite from Fiddler on the Roof, Tsigane, Gypsy, Russian classics, Yiddish, Jewish songs and more. He also makes the audience stand off their seats to dance and hands them the mic to sing. Everyone feels very special. Added to that are all the jokes and stand up acts that Serero adds between his musical numbers, which makes the audience have a memorable evening.

Roman Kaplan opened Russian Samovar in 1986, together with famous dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov and Nobel-Prize-winning poet, Joseph Brodsky. It wasn’t long before Kaplan, a former East-side gallery owner and his celebrity partners attracted many of the most prominent figures of the art, entertainment, and intellectual world to their restaurant. Since it’s early years, Samovar has been a known hangout for Russian, American and International celebrities. Russian Samovar is located on 256 W 52nd Street in Midtown Manhattan and serves high-end Russian cuisine and infused vodka, which is made in-house. Dining is accompanied by live piano music every nights of the week.


Actor and baritone, David Serero, has received international recognition and critical acclaim from all over the world. At only 35 years old, he has already performed more than 1,000 concerts and performances throughout the world and played in over 100 films and recorded 20 albums. He has given concerts in Paris at the PARIS OPERA GARNIER, OLYMPIA, EIFFEL TOWER; in New York at the LINCOLN CENTER, CARNEGIE HALL, TIMES SQUARE; in London at the ROYAL COLLEGE OF MUSIC, WEMBLEY STADIUM; and in Moscow at the TCHAIKOVSKY HALL; in Amsterdam at the CONCERTGEBOUW, the BUDAPEST OPERA conducted by PLACIDO DOMINGO and more. He made his sold out WEST END debuts at the Dominion Theatre in 2012 and on Broadway in 2013. In 2015 and 2016, he played Off Broadway the lead roles of SHYLOCK (MERCHANT OF VENICE) and OTHELLO's title role with both critical acclaim. In 2015, he performed two open-air concerts on TIMES SQUARE for BEST OF FRANCE. In 2016, he releases ALL MY LOVE IS FOR YOU, a Pop Rock album, entirely composed, performed, arranged and produced by himself. He also played NABUCCO (Nabucco) in New York; and the title roles of DON GIOVANNI and RIGOLETTO at the CARNEGIE HALL. In 2017, David entered the prestigious WHO'S WHO AMERICA for demonstrating outstanding achievements in the entertainment world and for the betterment of contemporary society.

In American Television, he has appeared in: The Hunt with John Walsh (CNN), Mysteries at the Museum (Travel Channel), Deadline: Crime with Tamron Hall (NBC), Six Degrees of Murder (Discovery Channel), Checked Out, On The Case with Paula Zhan (Discovery ID), Rabid Beast (Animal Planet TV), Suddenly Rich (TLC TV), Whistleblowers (Spike TV), Blood Feuds - Gangs of New York (Discovery Channel).

In American Films he starred in Alice in America, Tango Shalom, Winter Has No Sun, Most Beautiful Island, When I sing, Paisanos in Paris, Following Phil, Terminal 5, Sheepshead, Again, Overload Rock or Die, The Redemption, Kingdom of the Alley, Ring Ring, Laundry Day, Capicola, Make it Work, There Will Come Soft Rains, Amarena.

He starred in several commercials for Sotheby's & eBay, Bank of America, Don Julio Tequila, Khiel's, Volkswagen, BJ's, Pepsi and more.
