Happy Birthday Elvis by Steven Chera

Celebrated crooner Steven Chera pays tribute to Elvis Presley on January 8th 2018, (The King's 82nd Birthday) in “Happy Birthday Elvis” at the Zinc Bar, located in the heart of West Village in New York. Known for taking Songbook classics and standards from the 30’s through the 70’s and in his own, quintessentially New York style, singer Steven Chera has delighted audiences all over the country. Among supreme Steven Chera's musical heroes is Elvis Presley, whose music he fell in love with early in life. In 2014, Steven Chera releases an album entirely dedicated to Elvis Presley: "My Tribute To The King” featuring hits such as “I Want You, I Need You, I Love You” and "Mean Woman Blues.” Steven Chera has been collaborating with the Bob Kaye Trio, featuring Bob Kaye on the piano, Ed Caccavalle on drums and Lew Scott on the upright bass for over a decade; However, a tribute to "The King of Rock & Roll" would be incomplete with out those iconic guitar licks…for which he brings legendary guitarist Frank Vento to rock the house!

About STEVEN CHERA:

Brooklyn born Steven Chera is a modern-day crooner and performer with a vintage style of his own. Chera revels in the music of the Great American Songbook to early rock ‘n roll with a mellow-toned tenor vocal. His supple delivery can gently pull a familiar melody to unfamiliar places.

Since he started performing at the age of 13, the objects of his fascination have been the music legends Elvis Presley, Nat King Cole, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, as well as Jim Morrison. He’s teamed up with The Bob Kaye Trio, which consists of Bob Kaye on piano, Eddie Caccavale on drums and Lew Scott on upright bass.

Steven has performed at The Oak Room, the Metropolitan Room, Don’t Tell Mama, Swing 46, the Refinery Hotel in New York City, Spago in Las Vegas, Hyatt Hotels, The Acqualina Hotel & Resort in Miami and many other venues throughout the country.

Chera & his trio of all-stars sold out 3 consecutive shows this past December starting with The Metropolitan Room in NYC, then The Sephardic Community Center in Brooklyn, and lastly, the World famous Il Mulino’s AQ By Acqualina Resort in Miami, FL. His Band consists of Bob Kaye on Piano (who has played with the likes of Buddy rich & Dizzy Gillespie), Drummer Ed Caccavalli (Judy Garland/Liza Minnelli, and currently with Lainie Kazan & Tony Danza), and Bassist Lew Scott (Anita O’day/George Coleman/5th Dimension/Four Aces).
