When Caroline Maréchal moved to Los Angeles in late 2020, she brought with her more than

two decades of international experience in film and television publicity, and a clear purpose: to

build stronger ties between French cinema and the American entertainment industry.

For Maréchal, being based in L.A. wasn’t just a career move; it’s essential! “Everything happens

and starts here,” she says. “If you work in film or television and want to be in the heart of it all,

there’s no better place than Hollywood.”

Maréchal, a seasoned communications executive and publicity strategist, has built a career

connecting stories, talent, and markets across borders. Her professional journey began in Paris,

France, and has been growing in the U.S., working on everything from big studio blockbusters

to smaller indie films. Along the way, she’s supported cultural projects and spoken up for better

representation in media. Her journey shows a real passion for storytelling and the people behind

it.

She started at Universal Pictures Video and M6 Video, working on some of the most iconic

franchises of the early 2000s such as Shrek, Fast and Furious, Jurassic Park, and more.. She

later joined Warner Bros. Pictures France, spending over 14 years shaping press and publicity

campaigns for major releases from the American studio. From Joker to A Star is Born, The Dark

Knight, Harry Potter, Fantastic Beasts, Mad Max: Fury Road, and Dunkirk, she played a key role

in localizing global campaigns for the French market.

“Adapting messaging without compromising the creative vision—that’s the heart of good

publicity,” she explains,” she explains. “That’s what I focused on while resonating with the

audience.”

That mix of strategic thinking and creative intuition has defined her approach ever since. In the

U.S., she’s continued working across the entertainment and cultural sectors. At Cardel Group,

she helped build new communications divisions and led publicity logistics for Lupin (Netflix),

along with corporate work for global brands like Hublot. She also supported The Lost Princess,

a bilingual U.S. indie that premiered at the 2024 Beverly Hills Film Festival and earned

recognition for its cinematography.

What sets Maréchal apart is her ability to move between the studio system, independent

productions, and institutional partnerships, always with a clear understanding of both the French

and American industries. Whether managing talent on press tours, crafting festival strategies, or

advising on international co-productions, her work is marked by precision and cultural fluency. Today, she serves as Vice President of French in Motion, a nonprofit supporting French and

Francophone professionals navigating the U.S. film and television landscape. She’s led

communications efforts, expanded the organization’s presence on the West Coast, and

managed partnerships with festivals including Animation Is Film, Gotham Week, and DC/DOX,

to name a few.

“Being part of French in Motion allows me to help others navigate the same cultural shift I

experienced,” she says. “It’s about giving visibility to French talent, fostering meaningful

connections, and ensuring that filmmakers and professionals have the tools they need to

navigate in a new environment.”

In 2025, she helped lead the launch of the new website and a paid membership program,

positioning the organization as a go-to resource for anyone working between the French and

American film and television industries.

She’s focused on empowering women in entertainment, helping independent voices be heard,

and opening doors for French talent in the U.S., and vice versa.

Caroline Maréchal’s journey is about growth, resilience, and building connections. As a French

woman in the U.S. entertainment industry, she’s faced her challenges but continues to thrive,

driven by a passion for film and TV and a sharp understanding of how things work behind the

scenes.
