Investigation: How Matthieu Jos scammed me with False promises at the Cannes Film Festival and L'Oréal events

Our investigation examines multiple allegations against Matthieu Jos, who presented himself as a professional concierge offering paid packages for festival premieres and private brand events, including those associated with L'Oréal at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2025.

Matthieu Jos is supposedly a professional concierge who offers packages for premieres at the Cannes Film Festival and special access to events such as L'Oréal. Instead, he took the money and disappeared. His Instagram @matthieu_jos lists himself as an "agent", "producer", "image consultant", and founder of some "agencies of management and publicity".

He is also the founder of OPUS MANAGEMENT, and a man named Ciryl Julien presents himself as his Director of Finance and Administration.

A Criminal Complaint Filed in France

One alleged victim has confirmed she filed a criminal complaint in France, alleging she lost over £18,000 after paying for concierge services that were never delivered. Speaking by phone and requesting anonymity, she described the experience as deeply distressing:

“This was one of the worst experiences of my life. As a woman, I felt extremely vulnerable and completely abused. I trusted someone who presented himself as a professional and instead lost a huge amount of money. I am devastated.”

Her account reflects a broader pattern reported by others with similar outcomes. I wish to make it clear to the Festival de Cannes or L'Oréal that he is using their names to perpetrate his scams. Several victims have reached out and are willing to speak against Matheiu Jos. We have spoken with several colleagues of the French press who are gathering several testimonies against him. We have contacted both the L'Oréal and Cannes Film Festival communication departments, who are not associated with Matthieu Jos, but who promised to "get back to us in a few days". He promised several wire transfers, but none were sent.

According to several individuals who have come forward, Matthieu Jos offered premium concierge services that included Invitations to Cannes Film Festival premieres, Entry to private industry receptions and parties, Special access to branded events during the festival period, and priority handling through purported insider connections.

Payments were reportedly requested in advance, often framed as necessary due to limited availability and tight festival timelines. Multiple sources indicate that, after the funds were transferred, the promised access did not materialize.

Here is an excerpt from the criminal complaint filed with the French authorities regarding Matthieu Jos, prepared by one of the victims. We were able to access the full complaint and correspondence between Matthieu Jos and one of his victims.
