LONDON, UK — Community leaders, philanthropists, artists, and supporters gathered in London for "Mind and Body: The Art of Healing," an intimate and inspiring evening dedicated to advancing a new vision for trauma rehabilitation in Israel.

The event was held in support of the Geffen Center for Mind and Body Rehabilitation at Tel Aviv Sourasky University Medical Center, an innovative initiative designed to transform rehabilitation by integrating physical recovery, mental health care, and neurological treatment into a unified model of care.

Guests heard from Prof. Eli Sprecher, Chief Executive Officer of Ichilov Medical Center, who addressed the unprecedented challenges facing Israel's healthcare system during times of national crisis and emphasized the growing need to treat the long-term physical and psychological effects of trauma.

Dr. Oren Tene, Chair of the Psychiatric Division at Ichilov and one of Israel's leading experts in emotional trauma care, shared the vision behind the Geffen Center. He highlighted the urgent need for integrated treatment approaches that recognize the profound connection between mental and physical health, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive care tailored to their recovery journey.

One of the evening's most moving moments was a candid conversation between Dr. Tene and former hostage Or Levy, who spoke openly about resilience, recovery, and the ongoing process of healing following captivity. Their discussion underscored the reality that trauma recovery extends far beyond the initial event and requires sustained medical, emotional, and community support.

Acclaimed chef Assaf Granit offered deeply personal reflections on purpose, resilience, and mental health, bringing a powerful human perspective to the evening's discussions.

As Israel continues to confront the physical and psychological consequences of recent years, the Geffen Center represents a bold and forward-looking approach to rehabilitation—one that seeks not only to restore physical function, but also to rebuild emotional well-being, resilience, and quality of life.

The event reflected a growing international commitment to supporting innovative solutions for trauma recovery and mental health care. It reinforced a simple but powerful belief: true healing can only be achieved when both body and mind are treated together.

The evening served as a testament to the importance of collaboration, compassion, and innovation in addressing the complex challenges of trauma rehabilitation, while strengthening global support for one of Israel's most groundbreaking healthcare initiatives.
