REVIEW: DANCES PATRELLE presents THE YORKVILLE NUTCRACKER
On the well deserved packed Kay Playhouse at Hunter College, the company Dances Patrelle presented The Yorkville Nutcracker. Mr Francis Patrelle, the company's founder and artistic director, brought a new wave to this ballet classic.
All the ages are represented on stage from 4 to 60 years old along with all ballet techniques.
A beautiful evening touched by grace, love, passion and first class soloists such as Alejandro Andrade, Nancy Cantine, Roberto Lara, Emily Sotirov, Yuki Takahashi and Eliana Wenick.
The scenery, lighting and costumes are superb.
One can also congratulate the children for their involvement in this wonderful production. Children were also very present in the audience and kept their full attention during the entire show, a reaction rarer especially for a classic. It felt like being in a fairy tale. We want to thank Mr Patrelle for having us to travel along with him in this unforgettable magic journey.
With Mr Patrelle's unique sense to discover young talents from the youngest age, Ballet (the capital B is put on purpose) has very long days to go.
