REVIEW: DANCES PATRELLE presents THE YORKVILLE NUTCRACKER
At the well-deserved, packed Kay Playhouse at Hunter College, the company Dances Patrull presented The Yorkville Nutcracker. Mr. Francis Patrelle, the company's founder and artistic director, brought a new wave to this ballet classic.
All ages are represented on stage, from 4 to 60, along with all ballet techniques.
A beautiful evening touched by grace, love, passion, and first-class soloists such as Alejandro Andrade, Nancy Cantine, Roberto Lara, Emily Sotirov, Yuki Takahashi, and Eliana Wenick.
The scenery, lighting, and costumes are superb.
One can also congratulate the children for their involvement in this wonderful production. Children were also very present in the audience and kept their full attention throughout the entire show, a rarer reaction, especially for a classic. It felt like being in a fairy tale. We want to thank Mr. Patrelle for taking us on this unforgettable magic journey.
With Mr. Patrelle's unique sense of discovering young talents from the youngest age, Ballet (the capital B is put on purpose) has a very long way to go.
